Wake Forest, NC Preschool: 20 Activities to Add to Your Child's Summer Bucket List

Posted on 06-12-2016 | Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academy of Wake Forest

When school lets out for the summer, it doesn’t take long before every parent hears the dreaded complaint, “Mom! I’m BORED!” For working parents, childcare centers and learning academies are lifesavers. Featuring programs that incorporate stimulating learning curriculum, outdoor playtime, and even extracurricular activities, these schools keep little ones engaged, active and entertained all summer long! Kids ‘R’ Kids of Wake Forest even hosts a 10-week summer camp for 5 to 12-year-olds that combines physical activity, interactive learning and good old-fashioned fun for a summer camp experience of Olympic proportions!

While a summer camp experience is hard to beat, there are plenty of activities that you and your child can do together in the evenings after camp or on the weekends. No guarantees, but we think creating a summer bucket list with your family has the potential to take “bored” out of your child’s vocabulary for the summer. To get started, check out our list of 20 summer activities and then ask your child which activities he likes best. Create a list of your summer activity plans on a piece of paper that you tape to the refrigerator. Check off and add activities all throughout the summer! If you’re a little more creative, write out each activity on a popsicle stick and stick them all in a glass jar. Your child will love going through the popsicle sticks and reading all the fun activities he can choose from!

1.Take a trip to the city zoo or a farm.

2.Get out the hose and have a water fight!

3.Set up a lemonade stand in the front yard and donate the money to a charity.
